Warrior Armor Nerf - Real Reason Emerging
Just as we saw the removal of coveted weapons in Tyria months before the release of Factions (i.e. +5 energy weapons, etc....reason given was they were too powerful), only to re-emerge as friggin' green weapons, craftables, and a drop mod in Factions....so much for too powerful. The real reason for the nerf was marketabilty of the new expansion.
Next we just got a very odddd nerf to warrior armor out of the blue after such a long time of basic play.... then woooop!! Here comes the NEXT EXPANSION!! WITH TANKS APPARENTLY!!

Just real tired of having game changed thrust upon a game in order to bilk players for the next expansion. Instead of removing game options that are already well established how about the creation of new gameplay options without dorking around all the professions specific nuances players are already enjoying? I guess maybe it's just easier to nerf something and then give it back in the next expansion?

ooooo dang
this may serve a partial explanation for the *nerf* anet did.
I would also like to add that anet eternally removed the uncoditional +damage melee weapons; like the one SPil have on sale right now. So this can be another regular balancing nerf too.

i haveny realy had a prob wit nerf......only thing is u gotta heal alot more and think faster.......requires a little more strategy.......if u think about it, it makes sense cus how would holdin up a hunk of metal protect u against a spell or somthin, but i guarantee u nightfall is gonna have some magic shield that has extra armor and protects against everything

Curious...
In addition to Warrior armor and shield nerfs, does anyone notice some effects of the updates on actual warrior skills? In particular, I'm thinking of 2 skills--Pure Strike and Jaizhengu Strike. The skill description for both is that they cannot be "blocked" or "evaded". I've used both skills on several quests after the July 13 update, and when I've tried to use either skill, I keep seeing "evade", "evade", "evade" from the monster I'm trying to kill. Also, I now get interrupted like crazy (I'm a W/E) when trying to cast something like Inferno (which only has a 3/4 cast time). I've NEVER gone through as many interrupts playing for the last 8 months as I've had during just the last week...

Enchantments = stripped. Dervishes will NEVER be the tanks that warriors are...even after the nerf.

im thinking more likely stances or shouts than enchantments. Defensive Enchantments if you notice is capitalised ie its probably an attribute line.
if they were just enchantments then a dervish is no different than a Geotank. in fact it would probably be slightly worse because of energy issues

Even though I agree with the OP, remember that the Prophecies chars are the CORE professions; thus, I really doubt that the Dervish will be better than warriors at "tanking," if you call it that.

Mysticism (PRIMARY ATTRIBUTE)
Whenever an Enchantment ends, you gain 3 Health for each rank of Mysticism and 1 Energy for every 2 ranks of Mysticism.
Wouldn't surprise me if their defense was over 90% enchantments.
